SLIDER

✖ how to divide your picture for your Instagram grid? | Adobe Photoshop tutorial

Welcome back for another Photoshop tutorial.
Remember when we used the slice tool back in the post about how to split your picture for Instagram? We're going to use that same tool again, but this time for dividing your picture into twelve slices, for your grid.

Let's begin.

step 1 - beginning immediately by setting the guide layout
After importing the picture you want to slice for your grid, you want to begin with setting the guide layout. There's no need to crop anything, like in the previous tutorial and we can divide them straight away to as many pictures as you like. There might be some previous settings for "gutter" once again, and once again, you can just delete them all.
This time, we're using both - columns and rows. Columns are the vertical lines and rows are well, rows aka horizontal lines.

step 2 - slicing the picture by using the slice tool
From the left side of your screen, you can find the crop tool. Right-click the crop tool and choose to use the slice tool. Then, at the top of your screen, you'll find the button for "slices from guides". Click that and you're good to go.

step 3 - exporting the pictures
File -> Export -> Save for Web
Adjust it to a jpeg file, set quality to 100 and hit that save button!
Transfer them to your phone, upload them on your Instagram and you're good to go.

  1. This is so cool! Thank you for the tutorial, I love watching & Reading Photoshop tutorials since I don't know how to utilize much of it except for the brushes and a couple of the filters 😂 honestly I never thought of dividing one large picture into a bunch of small ones for Instagram but I've been seeing it from different people and I think it looks really good!

  2. I have always wondered how people post their photos like this! I used to think they had taken painstakingly long time to line and crop each photo every time to match.😂🙈 Now I know otherwise.
A great and helpful tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
