✖ the importance of a human connection

It's Sunday, so grab your morning cuppa and let's chat about the importance of a human connection.

I recently stumbled upon a quote, which resonated me in a level I've never experienced before. And this is coming from a person who could go through Pinterest the whole day pinning different UI/UX, fonts, pictures of adorable babies and who would have guessed? Inspirational quotes. And I really want to talk about that quote today.

Here's what you need to know about where I stand.
I study digital communications, and it includes:
     ✖ user interface design (UI)
     ✖ user experience design (UX)
     ✖ concept designing
     ✖ front-end developing
     ✖ service design
     ✖ social media managing

Which means, that I will be one of those people who will most likely be the one to design or collaborate in some sort of a designing process of an app, even a social media software, which will most likely take over your life. However, I don't want it to take over your life. End of story.

Meanwhile, I love brainstorming, coding and designing different web products, services and applications, I'm also a firm believer of the importance of a human connection. I mean, is it really fun to text to your loved one from the other end of the sofa and waiting for them to reply you with a gif about a cat? Is that life you want to pursue? Is that life you want to fall in?

And yes, I used the term "fall in." Why it's falling? Because it's damn addictive. It's addictive to scroll through your phone. Each time a new notification pops out to that locked screen of yours, you're eager to know what's happening out there. Social Media is like this whole different world, where we've transferred ourselves into - to be social. Even though we could be social face to face and in real life.

So consider this as my Sunday reminder to you, to remember the importance of a human connection. Do you want to be the wall someone tries to talk to when all you hear and see is on Twitter?
Do you want to be the one who is talking to a wall, when all they can do is scroll 9gag like a zombie?

Just food for thought for you today.
Stay awesome.
Stay present.

  7. Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I loved reading this post. It is true that so many people are obsessed with their phone and are losing connection with the real world, it’s sad. I refer to them as the REAL living dead... Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
